The conference “EU28: science, medicines, health – a regulatory system fit for the future” is now open for registration

The international conference "EU28: science, medicines, health - a regulatory system fit for the future”, organised by the European Medicines Agency, EMA) and the Croatian Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (HALMED) will be held on 6-7 May 2013 in the Hotel Palace in Dubrovnik.

The Conference is supported by the IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession) Programme of the European Commission assisting among others the participation of candidate countries in activities of the EU institutions.

The objective of the Conference is to provide an overview of the European medicines legislation and facilitate information exchange and co-operation between the Croatian and European competent authorities and pharmaceutical industry. The Conference will encompass numerous topics such as: pre-accession challenges for Croatia in the field of pharmaceutical legislation, recent advances of HALMED in the pre-accession period, marketing authorisation procedures, new pharmacovigilance legislation, risk management plan in the pharmaceutical industry, the functioning of the inspection in the EU/EEA and novelties in telematics.

This Conference is at the same time a continuation of the conferences organised by EMA in 2007 in Split, 2008 in Rijeka and 2011 in Zagreb entitled "Pharmaceutical legislation - Croatia’s road to the EU”, EU regulatory network - challenges and possibilities for Croatia” and "Reinforcing patient safety in Europe”.

The official language of the Conference will be English.
