International conference "Communicating the Risk in Pharmacovigilance: Are We Going in the Right Direction?" will be organised by the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices and the Croatian Pharmaceutical Society.

October 1-2, 2009, Hotel Kolovare in Zadar


Whom is this conference intended for?
• persons responsible for pharmacovigilance on behalf of the marketing authorisation holders;
• expert assistants working for the marketing authorisation holders on medicines safety monitoring and pharmacovigilance related operations;
• managers and expert assistants for regulatory and medical operations of the marketing authorisation holders; and
• representatives of regulatory bodies.


Official language
• The official language of the conference is English (some of the conference workshops will be held in Croatian).

Speakers and Programme:
Speakers are from the World Health Organisation’s Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (UMC), competent institutions of the EU members, the ALMP, countries of the region and the pharmaceutical industry associations. Lectures will be given on the first conference day, whereas on the second day the ALMP staff and guests from the EMEA will hold workshops on new developments in pharmacovigilance (EudraVigilance, submission of the Periodic Safety Update Report for medicinal products and so on).

The number of participants is limited so you are kindly requested to register at the earliest convenience.


Registration Fee
The registration fee is HRK 3,500.00 + VAT, and it covers coffee breaks, two working lunches, a tourist tour of Zadar, a conference dinner and an attendance certificate.


Payment of Registration Fee
After registering, payment of the registration fee can be made solely on the basis of a pro-forma invoice, which can be picked up at the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (Accounting). Alternatively, the pro-forma invoice will be delivered by mail/fax to the contact designated in the registration form (please indicate on your registration form how you wish to receive the pro-forma invoice for payment of registration fee).
Proof of payment should be e-mailed to zadar@almp.hr or faxed at: +385 1 4884 110, indicating it is for the attn. of Mr. Armano Rajh, no later than September 15, 2009.


Cancellation Period
If unable to attend, registered participants should notify Mr. Armano Rajh (zadar@almp.hr; fax: +385 1 4884 110), no later than September 23, 2009.


Cancellation
In case of cancellation or no-show, the cancellation/no-show charge will be calculated on the basis of the following schedule:
• in case of cancellation prior to September 23, 2009, the registration fee is fully refundable;
• after September 23, 2009, the Organisers retain 30%;
• no-show: the Organisers will retain 100 percent of the registration fee.


Accommodation
The registration fee does not cover accommodation costs. A certain number of rooms have been prebooked for conference participants in the Hotels Kolovare and Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik. Please be aware that Hotel Kolovare is already fully booked. For the participants staying in the Hotel Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik there will be an organised bus service to Hotel Kolovare and back on both conference days.


Arrivals and departures
Each participant will make his or her own arrival and departure arrangements.
