HALMED's OMCL Division successfully completed procedures for prequalification for quality control of antimalarial, anti-tuberculosis and anti-HIV medicinal products

18.12.2015

The World Health Organisation (WHO) confirmed to the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Croatia (HALMED) that the procedure of prequalification of HALMED's Official Medicines Control Laboratory Division (OMCL) for quality control of antimalarial, anti-tuberculosis and anti-HIV medicinal products had been successfully completed. The WHO inspection team visited HALMED's OMCL Division in July 2015 and concluded that HALMED's laboratory operates in line with the WHO Good Practices for Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratories (GPPQCL).

Thereby, HALMED's Official Medicines Control Laboratory Division received an acknowledgement of its competence, technical capacity, knowledge as well as quality of its work on a global scale.

We would like to remind you that HALMED's OMCL Division received an accreditation by the Council of Europe’s European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & Health Care (EDQM) in July 2013 which enabled HALMED to actively participate in mutual recognition as well as exchange of work and medicinal product testing results within the OMCL network on the entire territory of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA).
