Roche d.o.o., Stada d.o.o., Genera d.d., Novartis Hrvatska d.o.o. and Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o., in agreement with the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Croatia (HALMED) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA), have informed healthcare professionals about the strengthened advice for pregnancy prevention when using mycophenolic acid, which is also available in authorised medicinal products as pro-drug mycophenolate mofetil, as well as in the form of mycophenolate sodium.

Siniša Tomić – the new Head of Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Croatia

The new Head of Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Croatia (HALMED), Siniša Tomić, PhD, Assoc. Prof., begins his four-year mandate on 1 December 2015. Siniša Tomić, PhD, Assoc. Prof. was elected by the Administration Board of the Agency on its 86th meeting held on 25 November 2015, based on a public competition.

Assoc. Prof. Tomić was also the Head of Agency in the period from its foundation on 1 October 2003 to 30 November 2011.

Within his new mandate, Assoc. Prof. Tomić will advocate for the strengthening of transparency of regulatory procedures, consolidation of Agency's business activities, protection of public health, as well as protection of health of all users of medicinal products and medical devices and protection of competitiveness of pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, he will work on the strengthening of cooperation with national and international institutions in areas of medicinal products and medical devices and will continue to develop the informing on safety issues and other issues of interest for patients.
